The focus of the meeting was several topics, first of all, the current presidencies of Sweden with the European Union and the Republic of North Macedonia with the OSCE, Sweden’s membership in NATO and the security situation on the European continent, Sweden’s presidency with IHRA and cooperation in the bilateral and multilateral sphere. , as well as the latest development of the situation in the SEE region.

In his capacity as chairman of the OSCE, Minister Osmani informed about the priorities of North Macedonia’s chairmanship of the OSCE and thanked Sweden for its productive cooperation and support within the framework of the OSCE troika.

Minister Osmani thanked for the Swedish continuous support for the integration of North Macedonia and the Western Balkans as a whole in the EU.

Recalling that during Sweden’s last presidency of the Council (in the second half of 2009), our country received visa liberalization and the EC’s first recommendation for the start of accession negotiations, he expressed confidence that with its pragmatic and results-oriented policy, the current Swedish presidency it will also leave a positive mark in the European trajectory of our country.
